One of the missions of Kingdom of Heaven Ministries is to help the ex-offender reintegrate back into society. The increasing volume of returning prisoners, the multiple challenges they face, and their high recidivism rates have dire consequences for public safety, as well as state budgets. Our fundamental service areas are: Housing, Counseling, and Training.
R.E.C.E.S.S. (Re-Entering Citizen Emergency Support Services)
Based on the ASI Principle (Assimilation, Stabilization, and Improvement) approach of the re-entering individual’s process of transitioning into a community’s eco system. This is a multi-stage process that begins with an initial assessment of need conducted in most cases at least thirty days pre-release which continues to completion with immediate needs of Housing, Counseling, and Employability Training. Individuals are referred from Parish and State Prison Facilities who have previously lived in or are being released to our primary service area zip codes of 70802, 70805, 70806, and 70807.
Can You Help a Sista Out (C.Y.H.A.S.O) – This program is our women’s support group organized specifically to discuss issues that are unique to the female perspective. CYHASO desires to empower females through community based holistic educational and counseling programs that address the needs of females.
We believe that a woman’s role is the most complex one of the family dynamic and, ultimately, society. Our program focuses on the female and the extension of the female: self, mother, sister, grandmother, employee, entrepreneur, local church member, and citizen. We recognized that you can not effectively help a woman manage without acknowledging her vital aspect to the lives of those around her.
Under this umbrella we will provide services that focus on Personal and Spiritual Development, Economic Understanding, Healthcare Education, Workforce Development, and Managing Family Dynamics. It is our purpose to change the perspective of women in society. In years past, women have been the most dormant segment of the population. Women are now becoming active participants in all walks of life, not only a significant unit of the society, but also influencing the course of social change in society.
Critical development tasks include:
H.E.A.R.T.S Closet (Heal, Empower And Restore The Soul)
The mission of H.E.A.R.T.S is to restore the brokenhearted, healing the wounded and offering resources to the less fortunate. Based on the scripture principle of III John 2-Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. The vision of this service is to empower and equip individuals through the illumination of truth that inspire all to rise up and become productive Kingdom Citizens.
Our program goal is to provide free clothing, shoes, toiletries, hygiene products and non-perishable food items to those in need within the local community.
